It is with great pleasure that I share with you the last milestone in my life. 300 subscribers to Ingrid News! The same number of readers who Like my Facebook Author Page, both also connected to Twitter, Goodreads, Blogger, Linkedin, My Space, and all together add to a much larger amount of readers that I have not calculated yet.
40 years ago, at the dawn of my writing career I never imagined that one day I would be able to reach so many people at once in the blink of an eye. Long gone are the days when I had to use a mimeograph to print copies of my newsletter in college and it feels like an eternity ago when I used a typewriter to write my first book, Country of Dwarfs.
Our modern technology of nano tech and quantum physics has made possible for me to make friends who read my work in every continent on a daily basis. An unimaginable task when I had to snail mailed subscriptions of my Newspaper Orbit in the pre-computers era. Authors no longer have to wait for the next book to communicate with readers, websites and blogs keep both in touch.
Social media allows me to write about different subjects, current events, guest appearances, etc., a flexibility that does not exist when producing a book which has a fixed subject or when working for the printed media with their protocol and deadlines. This new accomplishment in my writing career fills me with joy, but it would have been impossible without all of you and that is why I invite you to keep your comments coming, suggest a topic for discussion, ask questions, or mention anything that is in your mind; nothing is too taboo, because Ingrid News is a forum dedicated to you and for you. As an Author, I am a public figure who has no privacy issues, because I have nothing to hide and I encourage communication. This milestone brings to me not only pride, but the challenge to write better quotes, blogs, essays, and books that I post on my news an average of 33o days a year. Invite your circle of people to join us!
